Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>The mayor of Juba City in South Sudan has revealed that there is an influx of expired imported goods in the markets across the country and warned citizens to be extra cautious when buying foodstuff.<\/p>\n

His Worship Michael Lado Allah Jabu told Radio Tamazuj that they have received credible information that some imported goods from neighboring countries are expired and therefore harmful to human life.<\/p>\n

According to him, some of these goods include alcohol and foodstuff produced specifically for the South Sudanese market.<\/p>\n

“We have information that neighboring countries export to us unused goods, such as alcohol that is produced in an unhealthy way,” he said.<\/p>\n

Allah Jabu pointed out that Juba Municipal Council is working with the state bureau of standards to withdraw such goods and ensure imported goods are fit for human consumption.<\/p>\n

The mayor went on to call on citizens to report any suspicious activities involving goods in the neighborhoods so that those involved can be held accountable.<\/p>\n
