Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>Female South Sudanese Students studying in Egyptian Universities and Higher Institutes have welcomed a landmark decision by the Egyptian government to revoke visa requirement for all female South Sudanese entering the North African country.<\/p>\n

In a statement on Thursday, the Egyptian embassy in Juba said \u201call females are exempted from visa\u201d requirement and all \u201cmale from 16 years old to 50 years old require to get an entry visa from the embassy\u201d but would not be asked to pay any fee.<\/p>\n

The statement, a copy of which was obtained by The Voice of The University newspaper, said that \u201cmales over 50 years old are exempted from via\u201d requirement as well as \u201call individuals less than 16 years old are \u201cexempted from visa requirement.\u201d<\/p>\n

In an exclusive interview with Voice of University newspaper, several South Sudanese female students studying at Cairo University said they welcome the decision and it show Egyptian support to the world\u2019s youngest country.<\/p>\n

Teresa John, one of the South Sudanese female students studying law at Cairo University Cairo branch said \u201cI always travel to South Sudan at the end of the academic year to meet my family and always need a visa to return to Cairo. This decision now is a landmark decision and everyone welcomes it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Angelina Michael, one of South Sudanese students at faculty of science at Ain Shams University stressed that \u201cthe Egyptian people are brotherly people and the decision of their government shows the love and hospitality of the Egyptian people.\u201d<\/p>\n
