Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>The Chamber of Commerce in Central Equatoria warned traders against engaging in commercial fraud and manipulation of prices. Robert Pitia says the trading bloc has noticed that some traders are rebranding expired goods.<\/p>\n

Robert says the license of any trader dealing in commercial fraud will be withdrawn.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe would like to warn traders not to engage in commercial fraud as we defend the right of traders against violating their right, we also defend the right of the consumer,\u201d Robert said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will inform the National Bureau of Standards to take its role. After one week, we shall start the process and we shall record every person having a habit of increasing the price any how and when we identify the trader with evidence.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnyone found rebranding expired goods shall be fine and we can go further and withdraw his license.\u201d<\/p>\n

In September last year, the Drug and Food Control Authority called on the government to establish a laboratory for testing imported pharmaceutical and food items.<\/p>\n

South Sudan entirely relies on Kenya and Uganda for all imports including basic market items such as tomatoes, onions, maize flour, rice, cooking oil, dairy products.<\/p>\n
