At least four shops yesterday perished in ashes after a fire broke out at the custom market burning a variety of commodities on sale. Speaking to Juba Monitor yesterday, Michael Wani Allah Jabu, the city Mayor said that the outbreak transpired through a shop that has been closed for the last four days without being operated by the owner due to sickness.<\/p>\n

Mayor said that according to the tentative analysis carried out on the incident, the outbreak was believed to have transpired due to poor electrification of the shops and close annexation of several shops together by the business owners.<\/p>\n

\u2018\u2019 Up to now the reason is not yet clear but based on the tentative analysis taken, the outbreak was believed to have transpired through a shop that has been closed for the last four days without being operated by the owner due to sickness. Furthermore, Michael reiterated that despite series of struggle made by some of the business men and women to put off the fire, none of the shops was saved and all the sales perished.<\/p>\n

He underscored that base on the fact that he ordered the fire fighting team from the fire brigade for emergency response within the interval of five minutes, the retort was disregarded due to reasons best known to them and a water tank was hurriedly hired to set off the fire lately.<\/p>\n

However, he said that the shop owners could not explain the statistical detail of the perished goods since all of them were under the command of teardrops faced with agony and pain on the incurred losses.<\/p>\n

In continuation, Michael said that he authorised the zone administrative officer operating within custom market to form a committee to carry further investigation on the incident.<\/p>\n

He said that it was three times that Custom has been burning within the interval of one month causing losses to traders and people living within the circumference of the market.<\/p>\n

Mayor ordered breakdown down of verandas established by traders causing congestions in the market by blocking petty roads in the market within the interval of 7 days.<\/p>\n
