Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>Education authorities in Yei River County, Central Equatoria State, have urged parents to take good care of the South Sudan Certificate of Secondary Education candidates until they complete their final examinations.<\/p>\n

Joan Margret, the secretary for secondary schools in Yei, said the finalists have to be in good health and need encouragement to see them through the examinations period.<\/p>\n

\u2018\u2019Let us take care of these children until they finish their examinations. Health-wise, they need to be cared for, fed well, and encouraged,\u201d Margaret advised. \u201cWe have seen that some of them are not fine medically but they need to be encouraged and given medication so that they recover and continue with their examinations.”<\/p>\n

Emmanuel Sebit peter, the county education director, appealed to the candidates to be disciplined and desist from things that can jeopardize their concentration as they write their examinations.<\/p>\n

\u2018\u2019I want to appeal to these candidates that during this time that they are writing their examinations, they should keep themselves safe, avoid things that will not make them concentrate,\u201d Sebit said. \u201cThey should maintain discipline until they finish their examinations. This is what I want to see in them\u2019\u2019.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, county commissioner Aggrey Cyrus Kanyikwa encouraged the students to be confident and concentrate.<\/p>\n

\u201cDo not capitalize on your frustrations and disappointments. Do not be a complainer but be a trier. There is nothing difficult, everything is possible only when you concentrate and you are confident,\u201d Commissioner Kanyikwa said. \u201cThese exams are not difficult, they only need your concentration, determination, and confidence.\u201d<\/p>\n

This year Yei River County registered 466 candidates. 295 boys and 171 girls. The statistics show an increase in the number of girls sitting for the senior four examinations.<\/p>\n
