Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>Two bordering communities that have been in conflict will attend a peace conference in Uganda next month.<\/p>\n

According to a news report by Radio Tamazuj, the Ngok Dinka of South Sudan and the Misseriya communities of Sudan\u2019s Western Kordofan State will attend the conference, with the focus being to quell the cyclic conflicts.<\/p>\n

The talks, which have been organised by the United Nations Interim Security Force for Abyei (UNISFA), will run from May 16 to 19, 2022.<\/p>\n

Bulabek Deng Kuol who is Ngok Dinka Paramount Chief was quoted by the local media saying women, elders and youth will attend the conference after agreeing on the dates by the UN agency.<\/p>\n

\u201cUNISFA got a green light from all sides of Misseriya and Ngok Dinka so that they can sit and dialogue. The delegates will be in Entebbe from 16-19 and after that, we will see what happens, \u201che said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe, the Dinka, don\u2019t see peace without dialogue and this is logic. This dialogue was supposed to take place in September 2021 but the other side (Misseriya) was not ready. It was again to take place in November in Nairobi but it was postponed until now, \u201che added.<\/p>\n

The two communities have been embroiled in inter-communal conflicts that have led to an escalating humanitarian crisis resulting from deaths and displacements.<\/p>\n
