Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>The governor of Western Equatoria State, Alfred Futuyo Karaba, over the weekend said the state will soon receive 11 vehicles for ministers and other senior executive staff.<\/p>\n

Governor Futuyo who had just returned from an official trip to Juba said he purchased the vehicles while there.<\/p>\n

\u201cLast time we got 4 cars and this time I also struggled and got 7 cars, making a total of 11 cars. I only returned home for the celebration of Eid al Fitr and will go back to Juba next Friday to bring the vehicles. The ministers who were footing will now get a car,\u201d Governor Futuyo said.<\/p>\n

Christopher Benjamin, the peace-building minister said the new vehicles will help his ministry with mobility.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe (governor) told us those who never received a vehicle will be allocated one. My ministry is a special ministry and I am supposed to have a separate car so that we can be in a position to carry out our duties. My friends are the ones who help me but when it comes to outreach, I use the helicopter of UNMISS,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

It is not clear what make and cost of the vehicles the governor purchased.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Deputy Governor Dr. Kennedy Gaaniko said the state was peaceful during the absence of the governor.<\/p>\n

\u201cComrade Governor, we welcome you back to the state. Since you left, the youth in the state have been peaceful and the general situation is peaceful,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
