Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>South Sudan\u2019s President Salva Kiir Mayardit has urged Muslims community in South Sudan to pray for peace across the country during Eid el-Fitr season.<\/p>\n

In a statement seen by Sudans Post this morning, Kiir told Muslims community to seize the opportunity of Eid el-Fitr to offer prayers for unity, and stability of South Sudan.<\/p>\n

\u201cOn a day like this, we are reminded to recommit ourselves to prayers. It is also the day we take the opportunity to pray for peace and forgiveness s a country,\u201d Kiir said in a statement on Eid el-Fitr message on Monday.<\/p>\n

Kiir urged the Muslims to use Eid el Fitr to renew their determination to uphold God\u2019s teaching and help the needy.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter a month-long show of devotion characterized by fasting, charity and self-accountability to God, Muslims emerged during this sacred day with renewed determination to uphold God\u2019s teaching and to help the needy in their midst,\u201d Kiir said.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs Muslims brothers and sisters join Muslims around the world in celebrating the end of the holy month of Ramadan, my family and I send our heartfelt wishes on this important event in the Islamic faith,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

He stressed the need for both Muslims and Christians to embrace peaceful co-existence.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs you open your families\u2019 door to your friends and neighbors during this Eid el Fitr festivities, let the joy and happiness radiating from this celebration amplify the message of peace and forgiveness within our communities,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
