Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>Police in Western Equatoria State have received seven new land cruiser vehicles to boost their patrols in the state.<\/p>\n

The vehicles were donated by the national government to improve security surveillance in the state.<\/p>\n

While handing over the cars to the State police authorities, Governor Alfred Futuyo Karaba directed officials to make good use of the cars.<\/p>\n

\u201cI thank the national government for providing mobility for the police in the state. However, I encourage you the police officials, especially those who will be responsible for taking care of those cars to look after them well,\u201d he directed.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf you leave them to spoil, then I think it is going to delay your daily work. By keeping [them] in good condition, we will tackle the issues of security, especially responding quickly to the incidents.\u201d<\/p>\n

The WES boss urged police to protect civilians and their property from the criminals, warning the police against mistreating civilians while on duty.<\/p>\n

Also, Governor Futuyo urged the police to be neutral and focus only on protecting the citizens and their property, as well as maintaining the law.<\/p>\n

He advised them to work for every citizen without discrimination, saying the police have no tribe, adding they would improve the police welfare if they work effectively.<\/p>\n

Governor Futuyo urged all the soldiers who quit the training centres to prepare for graduation.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Major. Gen. Albino Mariano, the Western Equatoria State Police Commissioner, said the vehicles will be deployed to the counties where there is rampant insecurity.<\/p>\n

He said the vehicles will be assigned to the police headquarters, Yambio, Nzara, Maridi, Ibba counties, Mundri West, Mundri East, and Mvolo, Tombura, Ezo, and Nagero counties each.<\/p>\n
