Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>The South Sudan council of ministers in their regular meeting last Friday approved a work plan worth over SSP 2.7 Billion for the dissemination of the revitalized peace agreement presented to the cabinet by the Peace Building Minister Stephen Par Kuol.<\/p>\n

Information Minister Michael Makuei Lueth while briefing the media after the meeting said they listened to a presentation on the work plan for peace dissemination in the country and the diaspora.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe work plan included visiting all the states and the three administrative areas, going to the displaced and refugee camps, and even visiting the other countries in the diaspora where there is a sizable number of South Sudanese so that they can understand the progress being made in the implementation of the agreement and the way forward,\u201d Makuei said.<\/p>\n

He said the money was already budgeted for peace in South Sudan.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, he (peacebuilding minister) is asking that this money should be released from that budget and used for the dissemination of the agreement in the areas of concern,\u201d he added. \u201cThis report was highly appreciated and it was approved and passed by the cabinet.\u201d<\/p>\n

In March, parliament allocated the peace-building ministry over SSP 179 million during the 2021\/2022 fiscal year approval.<\/p>\n

The parliamentary budget scrutiny committee also directed in one of its budget recommendations that the Ministry of Finance and Planning release the budgeted funds to the Ministry of Peace Building for the implementation of peace activities in the country.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, the cabinet in their Friday meeting also listened to a briefing from President Salva Kiir on his recent visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) where the latter said he held meetings with UAE authorities to discuss bilateral relations which went well.<\/p>\n

Makuei said the president\u2019s delegation while in Abu Dhabi also held meetings with investors who showed interest in road construction, agriculture, and animal resources.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is worth mentioning that a delegation from the UAE will be coming to South Sudan and they are expected to arrive here (Juba) anytime from now,\u201d Makuei said.<\/p>\n
