Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>The advance team of the holdout breakaway Sudan People\u2019s Liberation Movement in Opposition (SPLM-IO) Kitgwang faction led by General Simon Gatwech Dual which was sent to Juba at the end of January has refused to return back to Sudan saying their mission is not yet completed.<\/p>\n

Last January, Gatwech signed a peace agreement with President Salva Kiir Mayardit. The agreement signed in the Sudanese capital Khartoum on January 4th provides for the integration of General Gatwech\u2019s forces into the South Sudan People\u2019s Defense Forces (SSPDF).<\/p>\n

The implementation matrix of the \u201cKhartoum Peace Agreement\u201d provides for the completion of the integration process of the SPLA-IO Kitgwang forces within a period of three months starting on the date of the signing of the agreement which also called for an \u201cimmediate\u201d formation of coordination offices in Malakal and Bor.<\/p>\n

But Gatwech last month recalled his advance team which was sent to Juba to follow up on the implementation of the agreement for consultations, saying the government of President Salva Kiir Mayardit was not that committed to the implementation of the deal for the advance team to remain in Juba.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Sudans Post on Saturday evening, an opposition diplomat allied to Gatwech said from the Sudanese capital Khartoum that the team has refused to return to Sudan with its leaders telling Gatwech that they cannot return to Sudan unless they completed their task they went to Juba to accomplish.<\/p>\n

\u201cYes they have refused to come. Some leaders of the team who have been given hotel rooms to stay by presidential advisor on security affairs are telling the team and the leadership in Magenis that they will not return to Sudan unless the completed the task entrusted to them,\u201d the diplomat who requested not to be named told Sudans Post.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor us in the leadership of the SPLM\/SPLA (IO), we can say that the government is dragging its feet and is buying more time to do its usual activities and we want our team to be out [of Juba]. But not heeding to directives of the chairman and commander in chief has also some consequences and we will apply those consequences very soon,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
