Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>The government has yet again given a strong hint that they will go on with the graduation of unified forces despite the latest sanction by the United Security Council.<\/p>\n

On Friday, June 10, Vice President for Infrastructure Cluster, Taban Deng Gai, extended his invite to \u2018all\u2019 African heads of states and governments, to grace the occasion.<\/p>\n

\u201cMay I bring you good news from South Sudan that our parties to the agreement under our able President, Salva Kiir agreed on the unification of forces and command structure,\u201d Gai said.<\/p>\n

VP Gai, however, did not give the date for the aforesaid graduation of necessary unified forces.<\/p>\n

The invite, delivered by Gai in Mogadishu where he represented President Salva Kiir at the swearing-in ceremony of, Hassan Sheik Mohamoud, the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, could be seen as a strong commitment to the state to implement the revitalised agreement.<\/p>\n

\u201cSouth Sudan will go on with the graduation of unified forces despite the latest arms embargo. These forces will be graduated soon. President Salva Kiir invites all heads of state and governments for the graduation of united forces,\u201d added Gai in his invite to other African heads of state and governments.<\/p>\n

The country is facing a shortage of military equipment, including guns ahead of the long-overdue exercise.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis part of security sector reform was the most difficult part of the implementation of the agreement,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

\u201cMay I bring you good news from South Sudan that our parties to the agreement under have agreed on the unification of forces and command structure,\u201d Gai said in Mogadishu where he represented President Salva Kiir at the swearing-in ceremony of, Hassan Sheik Mohamoud, the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia.<\/p>\n

The vice president was accompanied by the Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Deng Dau Deng.<\/p>\n

He commended the effort of the Somali government in carrying out free, fair and credible elections, vowing that the country would bolster bilateral cooperation with Somalia.<\/p>\n
