Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>A local female football referee has died in a road accident.<\/p>\n

Esther Tuna was reportedly knocked dead by a water-tank on Tuesday. The incident took place in Juba\u2019s Seventh Days Round-About.<\/p>\n

According to South Sudan Football Association (SSFA) Deputy Secretary-General, Joseph Apai Tuna succumbed to the injuries sustained a road carnage.<\/p>\n

\u201cShe died yesterday in the evening. She was involved in a car accident while on boda-boda,\u201d Apai told City Review via phone.<\/p>\n

An SSFA statement reads: \u201cSSFA management and its entire staff is shocked to learn of the unexpected death of South Sudan Women\u2019s Referee, Esther Tuna, who died in an accident involving a motorcycle (Boda boda) and a water tanker yesterday 14th June 2022 at Seven Days Roundabout.<\/p>\n

\u201cSSFA is therefore conveying its profound condolences to the family, relatives, Torit Football Association and the entire football fraternity of South Sudan.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tuna was on her way to Munuki playground to officiate a football in the ongoing third edition of the Super Championship.<\/p>\n
