Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>Warrap State Governor, Aleu Ayieny Aleu, has called off the Tonj community general assembly meeting scheduled for Sunday, June 26, 2022, at Juba\u2019s Nyakuron Cultural Centre.<\/p>\n

In a statement released by Warrap State Coordination Office in Juba, the governor said, \u201cthe alleged Tonj Community General Assembly meeting scheduled to take place on Sunday the 26th of June 2022 at Nyakuron Cultural Centre in Juba has been called off until further notice.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ayieny added that the meeting was called off due to the illegality of the body and some serious community concerns.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis group has not followed the right procedures to call a meeting.\u201d<\/p>\n

The chairperson of the organising committee for the Tonj General Assembly, Ngoth Ading, told The City Review, \u201cWe have been asked by community leadership in Juba to organise the resolution and election for a new leadership of community council in Juba which will be tomorrow Sunday in Nyakuron cultural centre.\u201d<\/p>\n

Ngoth added that the meeting would take place as it is because the current body has 11 years since it was formed.<\/p>\n
