Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>President Salva Kiir has directed academic professors from the University of Luzon and the International Leadership Institute of Ethiopia, who conferred him with an honorary Doctorate Degree in Humanities and Peace Advocacy, to document South Sudan\u2019s history.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe professors will be part of South Sudanese authors working on a book writing initiative on a comprehensive history of the nation which will feature President Salva Kiir Mayardit as the founding father of the Republic of South Sudan, his journey, sacrifices, and achievements, along with his fellow freedom fighters who liberated the country,\u201d the statement from the office of the president has said.<\/p>\n

South Sudan\u2019s Ambassador to Ethiopia, James Morgan, hailed professors, saying their studies concurred and praised President Kiir for bringing independence, peace and harmony among South Sudanese.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe professors are from different countries and their ideas and acknowledgements coincided after years of studies, and they found that (President) Salva Kiir Mayardit has done a lot for his nation to bring independence, restore peace for the people of South Sudan to live in harmony,\u201d Morgan said.<\/p>\n

Also, Prof. Badeg Bekel appreciated his inclusion in the book project as one of the authors who would write Kiir\u2019s biography.<\/p>\n

Professors from Ethiopia, the UK, and the USA on Thursday stated that Kiir also won the award for being a role model to youth in South Sudan and across the country. They referred to him as the founding father of South Sudan valuing his contributions and achievements.<\/p>\n

The Vice President for Economic Cluster, Dr. James Wani Igga weighed Kiir\u2019s achievements to be numerous and uncountable dating back to the liberation struggle.<\/p>\n

This was not the first time Kiir received an international award. In 2021, the president received Peace Model Award for the year 2020 from Global Peace without Borders Organization African Peace Award.<\/p>\n
