Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>The Western Bahr el Ghazal State Governor, Sarah Cleto Rial, has promised to continue promoting women\u2019s rights in the state.<\/p>\n

She urged the women to engage in creating a culture of tranquillity and best practices to promote peace at family levels and in the nation at large.<\/p>\n

Cleto stressed that women are the major stakeholders in promoting peace and peaceful coexistence.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs a government, we will keep highlighting the contribution that women make to fostering peace in our societies. By encouraging women, men, girls, and boys to collaborate for peaceful, nonviolent communities, we will continue to advance the rights of women and girls,\u201d Cleto said.<\/p>\n

Governor Cleto made the remarks during the \u201cStand Up for Peace Concert,\u201d which was organized by the Ministries of Peace Building, Information and Communication, and Culture, Youth, and Sports in collaboration with the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS) in Wau,<\/p>\n

She said the main goals of the event were to encourage harmonious coexistence, acceptance of diversity, mutual assistance, and the restoration of hope in communities, all of which are essential for achieving a sustainable, just, meaningful, lively, and rewarding personal and community life.<\/p>\n

She encouraged the people to start fostering peace in the region, claiming that this is the only path to national progress and economic recovery.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe government is on your side. \u201cWe are here to assist with service delivery, but what we really need from you is your cooperation as we work to create a culture of peace and implement best practices to do so,\u201d Cleto stated.<\/p>\n

She promised to ensure all young people have access to school and a safe atmosphere for learning.<\/p>\n

\u201cEveryone who values peace should attend the peace concert,\u201d she said, describing the occasion as vibrant. She also urged South Sudanese musicians and cultural organizations to participate in the Stand Up for Peace event with their various performances.<\/p>\n
