Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>South Sudan launched her first-ever e-Commerce.<\/p>\n

The innovation is intended to boost trade within the regional block \u2013 East African Community \u2013 EAC.<\/p>\n

The platform was launched by South Sudan\u2019s Resilience Organization and Afro Ark of Rwanda.<\/p>\n

Kevin Abalo John, the South Sudan Resilience Organization Executive Director noted that the project represents a significant step in advancement of intra-regional trade.<\/p>\n

According to Abalo, the main goal of the e-Commerce platform is to link young female farmers in South Sudan, connect with their peers from the EAC, particularly in Rwanda.<\/p>\n

She added that the platform enables quality, product-focused entrepreneurs to increase their visibility.<\/p>\n

The introduction of electronic commerce would increase real demand.<\/p>\n

\u201cResilience Organisation and Afro Ark of Rwanda will put in a lot of effort to advance the program, with a focus on advancing women.\u201d I thus urge everyone to leverage the benefits of this launch to enter the e-commerce industry, \u201cMs. John stated.<\/p>\n

She continued by saying that conducting business online is simple and that everyone in East Africa is free to sell and buy anything.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe cost is usually quite expensive when you physically go out and acquire items and then bring them back. This launch is the way forward where you deal with suppliers in the business, \u201d said Mr. Ayuel, adding this help in conducting business quickly, successfully, and effectively,\u201d said Ngor Ayuel Kacgor, the CEO of Petrotels Company Ltd, who spoke on behalf of South Sudan\u2019s business community.<\/p>\n

He added that the new electronic platform will allow small and medium-sized businesses to engage in international electronic trade and encourage commerce and travel between South Sudan and Rwandan tourists.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think this can be able to support small enterprises, young people, and women selling their goods so they can buy, sell, deliver, pay, and go across the world.\u201d<\/p>\n

Speaking on behalf of the Central Bank, Francis Akile, reaffirmed their commitment to collaborating with local governments and business partners to build the nation\u2019s e-commerce platform, noting that doing so is one strategy for boosting the country\u2019s economy.<\/p>\n

The products will be produced online, the officials said, saving on travel expenses.<\/p>\n

The digital platform stands out for enabling a reliable, larger market of products with guaranteed quality and market price information through in-depth product descriptions, reviews, and content moderation.<\/p>\n

The producer identity verification and pricing will significantly increase the value of products and the volume of trade between women and young entrepreneurs engaged in agribusiness between the two countries.<\/p>\n

With increasing brand awareness, customer-centred experiences and services will rise, boosting trade between Rwanda and South Sudan as a result of rising intra-EAC trade.<\/p>\n
