Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>The Central Equatoria State Governor, Emmanuel Adil Anthony, said he will expedite the process and find justice for Kajo Keji victims who were allegedly killed by the military about two months ago.<\/p>\n

\u201cGovernor Emmanuel assured the committee and the general public of the willingness by the government to expedite the process for the commencement of military justice proceedings to instill trust and confidence among the local population,\u201d the governor said in a statement.<\/p>\n

Governor Adil made the statement on Thursday, when he received a report from an Adhoc Committee on Kajo Keji killings.<\/p>\n

Early in June 2022, Governor Adil appointed a committee to investigate the killing of a soldier and three civilians in Kiri Boma of Kajo Keji County. The victims included 18-year old Sevia Yamba Lominsuk, Justin Lisok Lominsuk (16) and Taka Igga Wani \u2013 38.<\/p>\n

The army also arrested and detained three people \u2013 including a woman and her baby; and the sister of the two deceased boys. Villagers are now calling for their release.<\/p>\n

The committee that included State Minister of Peace Building, Francis Gerald, was chaired by Gubernatorial Advisor on Legal Affairs, Jacob Gore.<\/p>\n

Adil had asked the committee to establish causes of alleged killing, arrest of civilians and identify perpetrators of alleged crime and the families of the three civilians lynched. The committee was given a week to report back to the governor.<\/p>\n

However, according to the Press Secretary in the Office of the Governor, the content of the report will not be made public anytime soon due to the sensitivity of the matter.<\/p>\n

Media reports had indicated that the incident was a retaliatory attack by the army after villagers allegedly killed one of them at Itorogwe village.<\/p>\n

The real cause of the soldier\u2019s death is yet to be made public.<\/p>\n
