Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>Warrap State officials have condemned the latest insecurity incident that left over 30 people dead.<\/p>\n

The attack happened at Akop village, Akuach Payam in Tong North County, on the night of Thursday.<\/p>\n

According to state Ministry of Information and Communications of Ring Deng Adiing preliminary investigation showed the attackers came from the neighbouring state.<\/p>\n

\u201cArmed youth stormed the village at around 4:00 pm with the main intention of raiding the cattle and when their motive aborted, they then resorted to kill the villagers.<\/p>\n

\u201cThey killed more than 30 people, including women and children who were fishing in the nearby river. Scores were wounded,\u201d Deng told City Review via phone.<\/p>\n

Warrap have been experiencing a spate of violence in the past weeks.<\/p>\n

On June 21 one person died while two were wounded in an attack by the armed youth.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe demand the citizens of the two neighboring states to refrain from any criminal activity,\u201d Deng appealed.<\/p>\n

Deng further called for the two (state) governments to arrest perpetrators of past crimes.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe demand the government of Unity State to arrest the perpetrators and bring them to book to prevent the families of the victims from taking revenge.<\/p>\n
