Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>The Chairperson of Tali Community, Angelo Maring, has urged state government humanitarian agencies to help them.<\/p>\n

Maring made the call after meeting Central Equatoria State Governor Emmanuel Adil Anthony, in his office on Monday.<\/p>\n

Maring said there was a drought which has discouraged agriculture, exposing locals to harsh living conditions.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe appealed to the government together with humanitarian partners to come for the aid of the people of Tali following the persistent drought in the area which has negatively affected the agricultural activities,\u201d the Press Secretary in the office of the governor, Derick Derickson said in a statement.<\/p>\n

Maring appreciated Governor Adil for his developmental style of leadership cutting through major infrastructures like the building of roads and Health centres.<\/p>\n

The governor of Central Equatoria State, Emmanuel Adil Anthony, assured the people of Tali of his utmost support and advised them to diversify sources of livelihood with the help of line ministries.<\/p>\n

Last month, Governor Adil urged inhabitants of Central Equatoria State to embark on farming after the eviction of cattle in the state.<\/p>\n

\u201cGiven its (agriculture) potential and availability of fertile land, we have to commit resources to the sector and engage all our citizens to become productive,\u201d Adil said during the second Commissioners and Mayors\u2019 Forum held on, June 8, 2022.<\/p>\n

The governor assured farmers that he would award the best farmers, ordering commissioners of the six Central Equatoria counties to put to effect presidential orders on the evacuation of cattle.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have to make the villages very attractive and promote wealth creation by discouraging rural-urban migration.\u201d We must create wealth through agriculture,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

\u201cI direct all of you, the commissioners and mayors, to continue implementing the order by His Excellency (President Kiir) regarding the repatriation of roaming cattle.\u201d We are dealing with the issue of cattle roaming in bushes and massively encourage our communities to engage in farming. I, therefore, encourage all of you to campaign for agricultural production across the state.\u201d<\/p>\n
