Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>Western Equatoria State governor, General Alfred Futuyo, on Monday declared a three-day mourning period following the death of the longest-serving Commissioner of Yambio County, Hussein Enoka Ibrahim Bakumba.<\/p>\n

Enoka died in the Sudanese capital Khartoum, on Sunday.<\/p>\n

The deceased had been on treatment in Khartoum after he collapsed at the enthroning event of the King of Zande in February this year.<\/p>\n

In an order issued on Monday, Governor Futuyo said the mourning will commence on Monday and end on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

\u201cI declare three days for mourning starting from Monday, 25th July to Wednesday, 27th July 2022. The work resumed on Thursday, 28th July 2022,\u201d the part of the order read.<\/p>\n

The Governor also formed a high-level committee to organize the funeral prayers for the Late. Hussein Enoka Ibrahim Bakumba.<\/p>\n

Late Hussein was appointed Commissioner of Yambio County in April 2015, before he was dismissed by the former Governor of Gbudue State the following year.<\/p>\n

He also served in the position for more than 13 years, under the Sudan regime, during the pre-independence civil war.<\/p>\n

Known for his eloquence, Enoka won a state parliamentary seat in the 2010 election.<\/p>\n

He had held various top positions in the state government, most notably in the Ministry of Information as well as the Ministry of Health.<\/p>\n

In February last year, Hussein Enoka was appointed by President Salva Kiir as the Commissioner of Yambio.<\/p>\n

Following the news of his death, well-wishers and citizens of the state took to social media to convey messages of condolences.<\/p>\n
