Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>The government of South Sudan\u2019s Western Bahr el Ghazal State on Wednesday launched a three-year development plan.<\/p>\n

The development plan 2022-2024 is supported by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) and other partners.<\/p>\n

Speaking during the launch of the development plan in Wau town on Wednesday, State Governor Sarah Cleto Rial said the process involved all the state stakeholders.<\/p>\n

She further said the state development plan is aligned with the National Strategic Development Plan that aims at consolidating peace and stabilizing the country\u2019s economy.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe process took into consideration the concerns of all the stakeholders, and we ensured that the process is in line with our national strategic development plan,\u201d Cleto said.<\/p>\n

Sarah urged the county governments to prioritize agriculture to develop the state.<\/p>\n

For his part, UNDP representative Samuel Doe promised to support the state development Plan. He added that the development plan needs accountability from the people of the state.<\/p>\n

The state plan focuses on developing the agriculture sector and improving education, security and health care services in the state.<\/p>\n

In June, the unity government in Juba launched a three-year revised national development plan to strengthen institutions for transparent and accountable governance until 2024.<\/p>\n

The 117 pages document known as the Revised National Development Strategy 2021 \u2013 2024 is expected to enforce the vision 2040 towards justice, peace and prosperity for all.<\/p>\n
