Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>The local authorities in Mundri East County in Western Equatoria State have said calm has returned to the area after one driver was shot dead when a convoy of three goods vehicles was attacked and torched on Wednesday morning.<\/p>\n

The commissioner for Mundri East County, Margret Fozia, confirmed the attack and told Radio Tamzuj Thursday that the incident happened between Kowabu and Doro in Laniya Payam along the Juba-Mundri highway. She said the trucks and their cargo burnt to ashes.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe general situation of Mundri East County is fair this (Thursday) morning after yesterday\u2019s (Friday) incident that happened at 8:00 am in which one driver was killed and vehicles burned,\u201d she said. \u201cMotorists are now moving on the road. The driver killed is a Sudanese national and the other drivers are alive. One driver is however still missing.\u201d<\/p>\n

Commissioner Fozia appealed to the armed youth to return home and participate in developing the country.<\/p>\n
