Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>A group of senior South Sudan opposition commanders allied to First Vice President Dr. Riek Machar Teny have declared their intention to join Gen. Simon Gatwech Dual, saying Machar\u2019s removal by Gatwech from SPLM-IO leadership was badly needed for the opposition group to reform itself.<\/p>\n

\u201cToday the 12\/8\/2022 we want to make it clear that we switch our loyalty from SPLM\/A-IO led by Riek Machar to SPLM\/A-10 Kitgwang Faction led by Gen Simon Gatwech Dual. The removal of Rick Machar from the leadership of SPLM\/A-IO is long overdue because Riek Machar has been a road block,\u201d the team led by Brig. Gen. Bandak Chuol Dhol said in a statement.<\/p>\n

The group accused First Vice President Machar of not taking advices from anyone within the main armed opposition group and accused him of only promoting people he is related too, rewarding no hand work among the leadership of the main armed opposition group.<\/p>\n

\u201cRiek Machar does not want a system he thinks that he is the only person who can do things correctly therefore the system and procedure do not work. Riek Machar does not make promotions on the grounds of participation. He randomly promotes people who have no participation and he usually leaves those who participated without promotion,\u201d they said.<\/p>\n

\u201cRiek Machar always put his relatives first especially when there is something good. For example, his relatives are now holding many senior positions in the Transitional. Riek Machar usually wants to work with uneducated, less educated and educated people who are new to him. This is because uneducated people cannot see his weaknesses,\u201d they added.<\/p>\n

They alleged that Machar \u201cdoes not want to accommodate the ideas of other people he thinks that he has enough ideas which the SPLM\/A (IO) needs. There is a wide spread corruption in SPLM\/A-10 under the leadership of Rick Machar. Some senior commanders sell rations and weapons. But Riek Machar does not stand concern about these corruption practices even when they are reported to him.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe peace that Salva Kiir and Riek Machar are negotiating is like an envelope without a letter inside. this is because they have been in Juba for years and they are either reluctant or unable to complete the implementation. For them to stay in power they made a shocking extension of the injustice Transitional Government for two years that is from February 2023 to February 2025<\/p>\n

\u201cWe condemn, in the strongest possible terms the barbaric burning alive of Brigadier General Gatluak Majiok Liey and the execution by firing squad of many others which happened in Mayom in Western Upper Nile State. This is a murder because there was no trail or investigation. This absolute barbarism of burning a person alive outraged most of the people in South Sudan, Africa and around the world.<\/p>\n

Other opposition officers who joined Gatwech with Gen. Bandak are Col. Chigach Kir Rut, Col. Michael Lual Jok Jam, Maj. John Buom Tut Maleak, Capt. Dobuol Thiyang Gew Nhial, Capt. Ret Geng Kueth Wunbil, Capt. Yong Met Koryom Bithuow, 1st Lt. Nyaluak Jakok Garang Jaak, 1st Lt. Nhial Koang Ret Mier, 1st Lt. Kuothekur Tutlow Chuol Lol.<\/p>\n
