Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>The Union of Persons with Disabilities says an estimated 120,000 people in South Sudan are living with Epilepsy, a brain disorder that causes recurring, unprovoked seizures.<\/p>\n

The information officer Dominic Wani said at least one person out of 100 in the country is epileptic.<\/p>\n

While speaking to Eye Radio on Thursday, Wani also noted that the report is based on estimates and not final.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn the case of south Sudan. We will find 1 from 100 people are said to have epilepsy, 1 from 100 people is equivalence to 120,000 people in south Sudan, the estimated that they have epilepsy.\u201d
\n<\/b><\/p>\n

Epilepsy is a brain disorder that causes recurring, unprovoked seizures. A person may likely suffer from epilepsy if they have at least two unprovoked seizures.<\/p>\n

Seizures may relate to a brain injury or a family trait, but often the cause is completely unknown.<\/p>\n

According to reports, around 50 million individuals around the world are afflicted with epilepsy.<\/p>\n
