Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>The Joint Defense Board appealed to the unified forces in the Bahr el Ghazal region to be patient as the military leadership prepares for their graduation.<\/p>\n

Lt. General Garang Ayii Akol who\u2019s the Co-Chair of the Joint Defense Board says, no date has been set for the graduation of the trainees in the western part of the country.<\/p>\n

General Ayii, who doubles as the Chairperson of High Committee for Bahr el Ghazal Unified Forces made the statement after some officers at Masna Biira, Mapel and Pantit training centers inquired about the date of graduation.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Eye Radio from the army headquarters in Bilpam, General Ayii urged unified forces in the Bahr el Ghazal region to give time for the army headquarters to address logistical preparations.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe arrangements of the graduation are going well because we have transferred forces from Pantit to Wau and also from Maples to Wau and now they doing the graduation parade in Wau stadium,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will decide on the date of the graduation, it may be in the next weeks and it will not delay a lot again and let them be patient and everything is going well.\u201d<\/p>\n

General Ayii disclosed that 11,000 soldiers are ready for graduation in Western Bahr el Ghazal and Northern Bahr El Ghazal.<\/p>\n

According to him, the JDB is working on a timetable for the graduation of the forces in Bahr el Ghazal and Upper Nile regions.<\/p>\n

The unity government held the first graduation ceremony on 30 August for the Necessary Unified Forces.<\/p>\n

The 21,973 unified forces comprise of 3,308 VIP protection soldiers, 4,366 police personnel; 6,315 national security officers, and 1,120 prison personnel.<\/p>\n

While about 3,575 personnel would take charge of the National Wildlife Service and 3,289 to be deployed to the National Civil Defense Service.<\/p>\n
