Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>Over 350 head of cattle were stolen during a raid by an armed youth group in Uror County, Jonglei state on Monday, local officials said.<\/p>\n

Machot Gatluak Kenyjak, the county commissioner, told Radio Tamazuj that the incident occurred in the county\u2019s Partet village while the animals were being grazed.<\/p>\n

He pointed out that the cattle owners have been pursuing the attackers since Monday in a bid to recover the stolen animals.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe attackers made away with 370 head of cattle while they were being grazed in Partet village in Padiek Payam. The attackers are being pursued by our youth towards Likuangole in GPAA,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Wany Bum Makhor, a lawmaker representing Partet in the state legislative assembly, condemned the attack and said armed youth from Greater Pibor Administrative Area (GPAA) were involved.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe local youth are pursuing the attackers so that they recover the cattle but there are no details about what is happening in the bushes because there is no network,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

For his part, Simon Peter Ajeny, the GPAA local government minister, said that they have not been informed of the incident but have promised to investigate it.<\/p>\n
