Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>A prominent South Sudanese journalist has died in the Egyptian capital Cairo, family members quoted by Eye Radio confirms.<\/p>\n

William Ezekiel Kuko Deng who co-founded Khartoum Monitor (now Juba Monitor) with late Alfred Taban before moving to establish his own Sudan Tribune newspaper (not the Paris-based online publication) in 2005 following the signing of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement (CPA) died on Saturday following many attempts for treatment.<\/p>\n

\u201cHis death occurred on Saturday at around 3 am in Egypt, he went there from Khartoum because he was sick, he improved well and later,\u201d William Obany, Deng\u2019s uncle, told Eye Radio.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe did arrangements for him to go and get further treatment there in Egypt, because he can be there in the cool situation, the reason of his death is the Hypoglycemia,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

The late also worked with Sudan News Agency for several years before the 2005 peace deal.<\/p>\n
