Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>The South Sudan national Chamber of Commerce has extended term of office of its leadership by two more years.<\/p>\n the extension means that current chairman, Losidik Lado Lukak Lege will serve until 2024, streatching his reign to 12 years.<\/p>\n The resolution was passed by 10 states and Ruweng Administrative Area, while Abyei Special Administrative Area (ASAA) and Greater Pibor Administrative Area (GPAA) abstained from voting.<\/p>\n Losidik Lado Lukak Lege, chairman of the national chamber of commerce yesterday stated that the extension was made with respect to the constitution as the legal person was present in the meeting.<\/p>\n \u201cAll the states have agreed to extend the term of the leadership of the chamber of commerce by two years. We are happy that a legal person was present and everything went according to the law, because people had been asking us that the term has ended,\u201d Lukak told the press.<\/p>\n Scovia Hidata, the chairperson of the Chamber of Commerce, Eastern Equatoria State, appraised the extension of the period saying it would allow ample time for the chamber to prepare for elections, given the economic crisis, currently existent.<\/p>\n \u201cI think the importance of extension will allow the national chamber of commerce to prepare for the election because now there is a crisis.\u201d<\/p>\n Robert Pitia, the chairperson of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture, Central Equatoria State, said the extension will also apply down at the state levels.<\/p>\n \u201cToday\u2019s meeting is for extending the period of the Chamber of commerce starting from the national, then down to states.
