Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>Governor Alfred Fatuyo has strongly rubbished allegations by Paul Malong faction that his soldiers were attacked by the national army.<\/p>\n The South Sudan United Front\/Army (SSUF\/A) on Wednesday claimed that their bases in Tombura County have been under heavy shelling from SSPDF in recently.<\/p>\n In response to SSUF\/A Governor Futuyo\u2019s Press Officer, Alex Daniel Digi, denied that SSUF has no base in Western Equatoria and thus the allegations are false.<\/p>\n \u201cWe have never had any rebels that is (connected to) Malong, Thomas Cirilo, or any other rebel in Western Equatoria, but what we do some time see are road ambushes,\u201d Digi said.<\/p>\n \u201cThere has been no attack on any military base in Western Equatoria,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n But Col Philip Deng Nguot\u2019s claims, the SSUFA spokesperson insists that their forces are being attacked, contrary to Rome agreement.<\/p>\n \u201cSSUFA has witnessed extensive and continues to witness offensives on its positions all over Western Equatoria by forces of SSPDF,\u201d Deng said in a statement seen by City Review.<\/p>\n According to Deng, the alleged attack occurred on November 5, around 4 p.m. local time in Dore, at a SSUF\/A military outpost under the command of Maj Gen Thon Chiluel Mathou.<\/p>\n He claimed that the location mentioned by SSUF\/A, led by Gen. Paul Malong, was non-existent.<\/p>\n \u201cWe do not have any attacks in Tombura (county), and the name of the place (area claimed to be where the attack happened) is not here in Tombura,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n He called on the SSUFA to avoid propaganda in order to allow the government and peace partners to concentrate on the Rome Peace talks.<\/p>\n \u201cWhat we learned is that there is a resumption of Rome talks that will take place soon, so the group of Malong is trying to use propaganda, which indicates that they wanted to claim their presence in Western Equatoria through propaganda,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n He said such propaganda was instilling fear among residents who are peaceful and busy with their normal duties.<\/p>\n For More News And Analysis About South-Sudan<\/a> Follow Africa-Press<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" Yiep Joseph Africa-Press – South-Sudan.
