Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>The government on Thursday passed out at least 5,000 Necessary Unified Forces (NUF) who underwent training at the Muom Training Center in Leer County in Unity State.<\/p>\n

The deputy governor of Unity State, James Tor Tunguar, told Radio Tamazuj on Thursday that the troops who graduated will be part of the unified national armed forces.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs we speak now, we have 5,000 troops who have just graduated in Muom and they that will be part and parcel of our unified forces,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The deputy governor said that another batch of over 4,000 troops who will join the national police service will pass out next Monday.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe forces that will be graduated on Monday 14 November will be part of the unified police. They are unified as one national and state police that will take charge of the security of the citizens and their property,\u201d Tunguar said. \u201cThere has been a vacuum of security because we have been lacking a national character. We shall now deploy them to hotspot areas.\u201d<\/p>\n

The deputy governor urged the public to turn up and attend the pass-out ceremony next Monday.<\/p>\n

\u201cI invite all the citizens of Unity State, including IDPs to come out on Monday to take part in the graduation of our unified police that will take place at Bentiu Independence Stadium,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The national government graduated its first batch of 21,973 unified forces on 30 August. It comprised 3,308 VIP protection personnel, 4,366 policemen, 6,315 National Security Service (NSS) officers, and 1,120 prison personnel.<\/p>\n
