Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>The Minister of Environment and Forestry, Josephine Napwon, has cautioned some political leaders against making hasty public statements while discussing national matters.<\/p>\n

Napwon was provoked by the remarks of representatives of a section of parties to the agreement on Wednesday during a plenary discussion on the agreed roadmap.<\/p>\n

\u201cI want to ask, what was the reason for that panel that was there before? Was this panel for the government or for the parties to the revitalised agreement to come and disagree in front of us?<\/p>\n

\u201cWe showed there was no unity among the parties to the agreement, and you have shown us that there is no political will,\u201d she protested.<\/p>\n

Napwon expressed concerns about the conduct of some leaders, saying that they had reduced the forum into a blame game arena in the full glare of the respected members of the international community.<\/p>\n

The government has been blamed for not being fully committed to implementing the peace agreement promptly\u2014a situation the minister of information, Michael Makuei, tied to the lack of commitment.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe parties to the agreement are not fully committed to the implementation of the agreement.\u201d<\/p>\n

Makuei called on the opposition parties to own the process and stop blaming other leaders, particularly those from the ruling party.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is very important that the parties to the agreement commit themselves and trust themselves so that we can implement this agreement,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

The 6th Governors\u2019 Forum is being held under the theme, \u201cAccelerating the Implementation of the Revitalized Peace Agreement in accordance with the roadmap 2022.\u201d<\/p>\n
