Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>South Sudanese nationals who worked for the government of Sudan from 1975 to 2011 will now receive pension savings starting from March next year, says a pension official in Juba.<\/p>\n

Jacob Nul Mayendit, who is the manager of the South Sudan Pension Fund says Khartoum has sent a delegation from its Pension and Insurance Fund to Juba.<\/p>\n

The technical team comprising 8 members is tasked with calculating the pension of South Sudanese who worked in the Sudan and transfer it to the Central Bank to be disbursed to the beneficiaries.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe pension and Insurance Fund of Sudan has appointed 8 members committee that combines the military and police and civil servant fund,\u201d said Mayendit.<\/p>\n

The South Sudanese pension official said the project will benefit former civil servants, police, and military who worked in Sudan from 1975 to 2011.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd they will be here for five days for dialogue and consultation in technicalities that involve the calculations of the contribution of south Sudanese who were then Sudanese,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, they are here to calculate and see the passable way to repatriate this money to the central bank of South Sudan to be managed and given to the right owners for those who had worked in Sudan from 1975 up to 2011 when we got independence.\u201d<\/p>\n

The South Sudanese pensioners will be able to get their rightful pay for their contributions over the years.<\/p>\n

The fund General manager called on the pensioners and beneficiaries to come and register with their documents.<\/p>\n

He also said the pensioners will start benefiting from the fund starting from march next year.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are at the beginning and its looks like we are going to speed it up within the first quarter of next year we will be having this money in South Sudan,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnybody worked in Sudan in previous years that I mentioned, he need to report to our office so that we stall their files and put them in our file management system.<\/p>\n

Mayendit said the Pension Institution has registered more than 700 Pensioners that are benefiting from the fund project.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo if you know you have been worked in Sudan and not been compensated and your file in Sudan now we have an office in South Sudan you come with your file number.\u201d<\/p>\n

He said those who have perished should have their pension claimed by their surviving family members.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou bring your father or mother\u2019s file number come and register in the fund office in Juba town.\u201d<\/p>\n
