Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>The senior officials of the Sudan People\u2019s Liberation Movement (SPLM) hailed President Salva Kiir\u2019s decision to appoint Tut Gatluak to the Political Bureau.<\/p>\n

The officials described the move as \u201cnew energy to the party.\u201d<\/p>\n

Unity State Governor Joseph Manytuil, said the party would benefit from the appointment of Gatluak, given his political experience.<\/p>\n

\u201cTut Gatluak Manime is a committed comrade, and we need to appreciate him for his extraordinary commitment and loyalty to the SPLM leadership,\u201d Manytuil said.<\/p>\n

Manytuil argued that appointing new members to gel with the old ones was a great idea since this would ensure that they grow the party together.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur veterans who fought tirelessly to liberate us from all forms of marginalisation must remain as beacons of our freedom toward building a peaceful and prosperous South Sudan,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

He called upon the people of South Sudan to display the spirit of nationalism and patriotism during this critical situation of peace implementation.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the same event, SPLM Deputy Chairman Daniel Wet Akot stated that the party would continue to welcome strong members into the party in order to add strength.<\/p>\n

Awet appreciated President Kiir for appointing Tut as a new member of the SPLM PB.<\/p>\n

He applauded Tut for rallying behind the president to ensure that peace prevails in the country.<\/p>\n

He called on the SPLM members to insert efforts in ensuring that South Sudan have peace.<\/p>\n

Gatluak, who is the Presidential Security Advisor, appreciated the SPLM leadership for the new assignment and promised to continue rallying behind the leadership.<\/p>\n

He promised to work hand in hand with the party officials to ensure that SPLM achieves its vision and mission.<\/p>\n

Gatluak was among the new faces appointed to the SPLM Political Bureau after changes were made in the top leadership in preparation for the upcoming election.<\/p>\n
