Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>Commercial trucks loaded with goods have started arriving in Western Bahr el Ghazal state capital Wau through the southern Darfur region.<\/p>\n

Speaking after arriving in Wau on Monday, Sidiak Bashad Idris, the head of the convoy, told Radio Tamazuj that they came via Raja and have spent 18 days along the way.<\/p>\n

\u201cI have brought dura, and salt and I have spent 18 days on the way to Wau. We left Buram to Timsa and from Timsa we came to Raja and now Wau,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n

Bashad said despite the poor state of the roads, many trucks are struggling to get to Wau.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have arrived with nine trucks in Wau but there are many vehicles along the way trying to move their goods into others as they developed some mechanical issues,” he revealed.<\/p>\n

The chairperson of the Western Bahr el Ghazal state chamber of commerce Wol Charles confirmed that goods have started arriving in Wau.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe goods are now coming, a large number of trucks has arrived through Raja road via Aweil to Wau,\u201d said Charles.<\/p>\n

“10 to 15 vehicles are arriving daily and now the price of goods is reducing. The market is full of trucks and the prices of the items are dropping. This is because the old stock in the market is still expensive but with the arrival of new stock, the prices will go down,” he added.<\/p>\n
