Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>The Minister of Defence and Veteran Affairs, Angelina Teny, and the fact-finding committee for the Aneet crisis have agreed to create a buffer zone between the Twic and Dinka Ngok communities.<\/p>\n The agreement was struck in a meeting between the minister and the committee tasked by the president to investigate the Aneet conflict.<\/p>\n \u201cI discussed with them the proposed idea of a buffer zone, and how we can manage it. \u201cThe proposed buffer zone will create an opportunity for the two communities to start the dialogue and discuss peace between them.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cWe discussed some ideas I have and also got some information in order to help them come up with solutions for the conflict,\u201d Angelina added.<\/p>\n Speaking to the media after Tuesday\u2019s meeting, Angelina said one of the most important duties of her ministry is to protect citizens and provide security to all parts of the country.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, the chairperson of the fact-finding committee, Angelo Beda, expressed the need for the minister of defence to appear before the council of state to answer inquiries and explain the position of her ministry on the current conflict in the disputed area.<\/p>\n \u201cWe consulted with her about some of the key issues that we want to address in the coming days that will bring peace in the borders and between the two communities, Twic and Ngok,\u201d Beda said.<\/p>\n In October, the committee of the Council of States tasked with investigating the conflict between the Ngok Dinka in Abyei and the Twic Dinka of Warrap State visited the area and met with the leaders of both communities to understand the genesis of the conflict.<\/p>\n Also, earlier this year, President Salva Kiir formed a high-level committee headed by Vice President, Hussein Abdelbagi Akol, to investigate the root causes of the Twic-Abyei conflict.
