Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>Central Equatoria State Governor Emmanuel Adil Anthony on Tuesday issued a gubernatorial order forming a seven-member committee to demolish illegal structures and retrieve all playgrounds and reserve land in Juba City Council (JCC), Luri, and Rajaf payams.<\/p>\n

Governor Adil\u2019s press secretary, Derick Derrickson, told Radio Tamazuj that the committee is tasked with demolishing illegal structures and repossessing public land.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe committee is tasked to demolish illegal structures erected on road reserves, to retrieve all illegally acquired lands, and to demolish all illegal settlements in government structures such as schools and playgrounds,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

According to Derrickson, the governor\u2019s order is a follow-up of an order previously issued by President Salva Kiir and the committee was given two months to report back to Governor Adil.<\/p>\n

According to the order, Adil appointed Fredericko Laku Raymond, the state minister of housing, lands, and public utilities, chairperson of the committee, state roads minister Mawa Moses as the deputy chairperson, and the deputy chairperson of the state Land Commission as secretary.<\/p>\n

The other members are Thiik Thiik Mayardit, the Deputy Mayor for physical Infrastructure at JCC, Brigadier Samuel Jaafar Lodu, the state deputy commissioner of police, the deputy director of the National Security Service, and the executive director of Juba County, John Ponsiano.<\/p>\n
