Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>Political parties yet to register with the Council of Political Parties have been urged to ensure their compliance ahead of the general elections slated for the end of 2024.<\/p>\n

Speaking to a crowd at the house of the Sudan People\u2019s Liberation Movement party (SPLM-IG) on Sunday in Northern Bahr el Ghazal State, the Vice President of Service Cluster, Hussein Abdelbagi, warned that such political parties are not committed to the implementation of the revitalised peace agreement.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe political parties that signed the revitalised peace agreement must register with the Council of Political Parties, then they can demand to be given political space.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI call on all the authorities and officials in the country to allow other political parties to carry out their political activities, we have to stop the bitterness of the tribe as a result of previous wars,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

He further \u201curged any party allied to militias anywhere in the country to review their engagements and break from the chains of violence to allow the country to enjoy peace.\u201d<\/p>\n

Political parties must have 500 registered voters per state, according to the Political Parties Act of Amendment 2022, which was signed by the President before the break of the Christmas holiday along with other laws.<\/p>\n
