Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>Sony Harriet, the head coach of Kator FC, a newly found women\u2019s club in Juba, was left in tears after her side was eliminated from the ongoing South Sudan Women\u2019s Cup (SSWC) competition.<\/p>\n

Kator\u2019s loss to Komiru FC of Joppa, was startling to Juba\u2019s football supporters just as it was to their new coach who could not comprehend how one of the seasoned teams could kiss the tournament goodbye so early in the competition.<\/p>\n

Komiru who went to the game with the underdog tag surprised the bookers with a solid display of determination when they slayed the giant.<\/p>\n

Rose Khamis gave the Joppa ladies the lead with a 38th-minute strike that sent shockwave down the spins of the much-hyped Kator.<\/p>\n

Victoria Wani would later level the game just four minutes later as both sides went into the breather tied one-all.<\/p>\n

The second half ended scoreless \u2013 sending the duel into a penalty shootout. But coach Harriet would suffer a heavy 3-1 loss from the spot as Komiru progressed to the next round.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe game was fantastic, we start well, pressing harder to produce the scoring opportunities but it never comes as we wanted.<\/p>\n

\u201cOur biggest issue was finishing was hard but reaching in the middle we come poor and it is what hurt us,\u201d lamented Harriet.<\/p>\n

A visibly disappointed Harriet who could not help but fight tears blamed the loss on the lack of fitness of her players.<\/p>\n

\u201cAll these issues result from the ladies\u2019 lack of training,\u201d she said adding that she\u2019ll need to address \u201ccertain technical issues\u201d in the squad.<\/p>\n

In other matches, reigning champions AL-Rabita FC will take on Jamus FC on Saturday.<\/p>\n

Atlabara FC has a weekend date with Juba United while league champions Munuki FC takes on Malakia Women FC at Bulluk Playground.<\/p>\n

Al Rabita won the first edition of the tournament in December 2021 by defeating Al Merriekh 4-3 on penalties.<\/p>\n
