Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>The government of Western Equatoria State has released SSP100 million to improve education in the state.<\/p>\n The money will be used to boost infrastructure in ten counties.<\/p>\n Each of the 10 counties will receive SSP 10 mission.<\/p>\n About the same time last year, Governor Alfred Futuyo ordered the release of the fund meant to support education programs in the state.<\/p>\n The order also directed the county commissioners to employ 400 teachers and deploy them in order of priority.<\/p>\n At the same time, the governor also ordered the commissioners to involve County Education Directors, paramount chiefs, chiefs and parents\u2019 council in the utilization of the cash grant.<\/p>\n In a separate order, Governor Futuyo said only counties with at least 40 government schools each, with at least 10 teachers per school, will be eligible to receive the grant.<\/p>\n \u201cYou are to ensure that 40 public schools exist in each county and there must be 10 teachers in each primary school which will bring the number of teachers to 400 in a county,\u201d read in part the order signed by the state governor.<\/p>\n From the grant, a teacher will be entitled to SSP10,000 monthly salary.<\/p>\n Futuyo also called for mass enrollment of students in schools. He added that \u201cloitering of children in the markets during learning hours\u201d is strictly prohibited.<\/p>\n The order equally warned teachers against absenteeism adding that failing to report to work.<\/p>\n Governor Futuyo said any failure will lead to the arrest and prosecution of the parent or guardian as well as administrative measures against education authorities.<\/p>\n The governor also caped school fees for public primary and secondary schools as outlined below:<\/p>\n Primary 1-3 will pay a school fee of SSP 1,500, while Primary 4-6 will pay SSP 2,500, P7 and P8 \u2013 SSP 5,000 while students in Secondary schools will pay 10,000 in school fees per year.<\/p>\n Source: The City Review South Sudan<\/b><\/p>\n For More News And Analysis About South-Sudan<\/a> Follow Africa-Press<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":" James Atem Africa-Press – South-Sudan.
