Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>Telecommunication company MTN says it has successfully restored service after reporting a technical setback on its internet data subscription system on January 14.<\/p>\n

According to the company, the technical glitch, which was utilized by subscribers, has been brought under control.<\/p>\n

It also apologized to users for the \u201cinconvenience\u201d.<\/p>\n

The South Sudan branch of the Johannesburg-based company said Saturday, that it had suffered a technical challenge on its internet data subscription.<\/p>\n

\u201cMTN is currently experiencing technical challenges affecting Data Bundle purchases on the network.Our engineers are working around the clock to restore the services,\u201dMTN South Sudan posted in the afternoon.<\/p>\n

The loophole resulted in a situation where MTN users subscribe to any amount of internet bundles without paying for it.<\/p>\n

Users reportedly took advantage of the problem and expressed their happiness online, as others shared a code for the subscription.<\/p>\n

It is unclear when exactly the technical issue started and how much money was lost to subscribers.<\/p>\n
