Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>Christian faithfuls from the Catholic Diocese of Rumbek have left Awerial County and will arrive in Terekeka of Central Equatoria State on Wednesday evening, an official has confirmed.<\/p>\n

The Catholic pilgrims reportedly embarked on the difficult journey of more than 300-kilometer distance to Juba on foot seven days ago, where they will arrive in the capital ahead to Pope Francis visit to the country.<\/p>\n

Lakes State information minister William Kwoji said the believers could reach Terekeka today before proceeding to Juba.<\/p>\n

\u201cYesterday they were in Awerial, they have walked now for seven days, today will make eight days and within today to tomorrow I hope they will be there with you in Juba, they are going well. The government provides security and other logistical matters,\u201d Kwoji said.<\/p>\n

It is presumed that they will be in Juba on Thursday.<\/p>\n

Minister Kwoji told Eye Radio on Wednesday that the government has provided security and logistical support to the pilgrims.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is something being prepared, they prepared as a Church together with government, so there was no challenge only that those who may be losing from energy because of these seven days walking, it might be the challenge.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThere are some areas that they take rest and they pray with the people.
