Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>South Sudan\u2019s vice-president for economic cluster James Wani Igga on Tuesday claimed that Jonglei State cattle herders who attacked villages in Lire Payam of Kajo-keji County are witches who he said are against President Salva Kiir and his government.<\/p>\n

Wani who travelled to Kajo-keji on Tuesday was speaking to a crowd of people and condemned land-related conflicts in the world\u2019s youngest country, something he said the ruling party did not expect following the liberation of the country.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe first reason we went into the bush to fight was this land. God did not forget anyone but gave them all a land. He gave the Americans, the Germans, the Tanzanians their land, and here in South Sudan, he gave the Zande, the Nuer, the Dinka, the Kuku, and everyone their land,\u201d Wani said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis country was given to us all, but when we got independence, some people come to Wani\u2019s house, and say, \u2018get out of this house, Wani, it is now mine\u2019. This is not right or liberation, but destruction,\u201d the vice president lamented.<\/p>\n

The senior government official further attacked the suspected herders by referring to them as witches who are for destabilization of the Kuku people\u2019s land of Kajo-keji because they are against the government of President Salva Kiir Mayardit.<\/p>\n

\u201cMost of these people are witches and came to destabilize the Koko people of Kajo-keji and they are for regime change because they do not like President Salva Kiir. They are people who don\u2019t want peace and that\u2019s why the do these acts now,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
