Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>President Salva Kiir and his four deputies met on Friday to discuss a wide range of issues affecting the country.<\/p>\n

The meeting chaired by President Kiir was attended by First Vice President Dr. Riek Machar and vice presidents Taban Deng Gai, Hussein Abdelbagi Akol and Rebecca Nyandeng De Mabior.<\/p>\n

Presidential Advisor on National Security Affairs Tut Gatluack Manime and Presidential Envoy on Special Program, Dr. Benjamin Bol Mel were also present in the meeting.<\/p>\n

The country\u2019s leadership \u201creflected\u201d on the visit of Pope Francis, discussed the recent violence in Kajo-Keji, and the deployment of Necessary Unified Forces, according to a press statement from Kiir\u2019s office.<\/p>\n

The meeting also discussed what was referred to as the \u201crecent activities of encroachment of Kenya forces in Nadapal.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Presidency condemned subnational violence in most of the part of the country, especially the Kajo-Keji incident, and repeated the order to the cattle keepers to return back their cattle to their place of origin and emphasised the deployment of police in the area,\u201d the statement reads.<\/p>\n

It also resolved to redeploy the recently-graduated Necessary Unified Forces to restive parts of the country.<\/p>\n

On the border tension with Kenya, the presidency resolve to settle border dispute between South Sudan and Kenya \u201cby sending a delegation headed by an Envoy to solve the border issue between the two countries.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Presidency also discussed cleaning of the White Nile River, starting from Bentiu to Lake No and Bentiu to Nam River in Bahr El Ghazal.\u201d<\/p>\n
