Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>The restoration of the Azande Kingdom attracted political endorsements, with the government claiming credit for its rebirth after a century of no activities.<\/p>\n

The Vice President for Economic Cluster, James Wani Igga\u2014who is also the SPLM\u2019s first deputy chairman\u2014said the Azande Kingdom\u2019s restoration was an SPLM achievement.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe restoration of the Azande Kingdom after 117 years is the accomplishment of the SPLM under President Salva Kiir,\u201d Igga said.<\/p>\n

He was speaking in Yambio during the celebration of the First Anniversary of the Azande Kingdom.<\/p>\n

The kingship is considered a source of heritage to most Azande speakers from Western Equatoria State.<\/p>\n

Besides Igga, Western Equatoria governor, Alfred Futuyo, had also claimed that the restoration and the reinstallation of the new Azande Kingdom were some of his achievements as the state boss.<\/p>\n

Dr. Igga also directed the state governor and deputy governor to work jointly with King Atoroba Peni to ensure peace and stability return to the state.<\/p>\n

\u201cBuild a strong spirit of cooperation so that the citizens of WES can enjoy the implementation of the revitalised peace agreement on the resolution of the conflict in South Sudan,\u201d Igga stated.<\/p>\n

The Deputy Governor of Central Equatoria, Sarah Nene, called on the citizens to promote the culture of peace.<\/p>\n

She expressed the need to respect the diversity of cultures around the state in order to ensure that peace prevails among the people.<\/p>\n
