Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>Four pupils from Eastern Equatoria State missed the first paper as the Certificate of Primary Education (CPPE) kicked off across the country, Monday, February 13.<\/p>\n

As Vice President Hussein Abdelbagi rang the bell at Makalal Primary School in Juba, signalling the official start of a five-day Primary 8 examination, top education officials from Torit, Lafon, and Ikoto counties were busy making frantic calls on the whereabouts of four students who failed to turn up for religious papers.<\/p>\n

At Imehejek Primary School in Lafon County, a girl who had travelled to Juba missed the first day after she failed to get transport back home over the weekend.<\/p>\n

The same case was also reported at St. Kizito Isoke in Ikotos County, where a boy who had travelled to the capital, Juba, failed to secure public transport back home after visiting Juba sometime back.<\/p>\n

Faustino Lokudu, the state\u2019s quality assurance director, told City Review that two boys from Torit East and West Primary Schools did not show up for the exams.<\/p>\n

Over 60, 000 students registered for the examinations.<\/p>\n

The exams will run until February 17.<\/p>\n
