Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>Lakes State Ministry of labour urgedinternational organisations as well as private companies to consider natives likethe Youth and women towards remuneration and recruitment fairness.<\/p>\n

This came when series of cases regarding salary discrimination and unfair recruitment malpractices have been registered by a number of employees and interviewees\u2019 complaints.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Juba Monitor on phone, LakesState minister of labour Deborah Akech said that there were employment disputesbetween employees and employers within organisations\u2019 and companies\u2019 systemregarding poor salary scales and unfair recruitment method.<\/p>\n

\u2018\u2019There are rumours circulating that,some people who did not gone through interview process have been awardedcontracts yet the ones who fought answering written and oral interviewquestions were left out,\u2019\u2019 She said.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, she pointed out that theState Ministry of labour held a meeting alongside with the InternationalCommittee of the Red Cross (ICRC) in the state on how sustainable workenvironment would be created for everyone.<\/p>\n

\u2018\u2019When I took office, we held a meetingwith the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) on how we could createa better sustainable environment of employment to everyone in Lakes State. Inthe beginning, youth in the state conceptualised that, most jobs were takenaway from them by foreigners\u2019\u2019 she pointed.<\/p>\n

However, she reiterated that NGOs andcompanies operating in the country should work hand in hand with the Country\u2019slabour law to avoid disputes and misinterpretation.<\/p>\n

\u2018\u2019Organisations and companies shouldwork according to the labour laws of the Country to avoid misinterpretation anddisputes,\u2019\u2019 she reiterated.<\/p>\n
