Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>Authorities in Central Equatoria State have suspended the activities of Go-Green East Africa \u2013 a company contracted by the City Council to collect garbage in Juba.<\/p>\n

The decision to stop the private company from cleaning the city residential areas comes amid the ongoing court dispute with another company.<\/p>\n

Moro Isaac, the Minister of Local Government and Law Enforcement IN Central Equatoria State said the City Council will take over the garbage collection duty indefinitely.<\/p>\n

However, Minister Isaac didn\u2019t disclose information about the court verdict or when the company will resume work again<\/p>\n

\u201cWe are here to decide as Local Government Authority, that Go-Green company operation is suspended until further notice and the city council will take charge of the company\u2019s duties,\u201d Moro told reporters at the City Council headquarters in Juba Saturday.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe (city council) will take over the health and sanitation as well as to clean up the city and provide the services that the citizens require.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cAs the government, this is our obligation to provide this service to our people and whoever tries to interfere with this responsibility will be held responsible.\u201d<\/p>\n

In January 2022, the Municipal Council contracted the East Africa Go Green company to undertake a privatized collection of garbage and beautification of the country\u2019s capital.<\/p>\n

However, the company is battling a court case about an alleged breach of contract of a two-point-five million US dollars loan from the Simon Trading Company.<\/p>\n
