Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span> <\/b> South Sudan government ministers are intimidating, threatening and unlawfully suspending civil servants, according to the Executive Director of Community Empowerment for Progress Organization (CEPO) Edmund Yakani.<\/p>\n

In an email to Sudans Post on Saturday, Yakani said most ministers and undersecretaries are violating laws.<\/p>\n

\u201cSome ministers are turning to be dictators, intimidating, harassing and threatening civil servants and have reached to the level of unlawful suspension of civil servants. Their acts constitute grave violation of some provisions of the labour act and principles of public services,\u201d Yakani told Sudans Post in an email.<\/p>\n

\u201cCEPO is seriously urging the two ministers for Labour and public services to constitute a committee should confidentially listen to grievances of the civil servants in various national ministries,\u201d Yakani further added.<\/p>\n

Yakani further threatened to expose names of the ministers mistreating civil servants if the ministry of labour and public service does not intervene over the matter.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe will opt to go public on this matter and exposes names of ministers and undersecretaries that are mistreating their civil servants in unlawful manner and violation of the labour law and standards of public service,\u201d he warned.<\/p>\n

Yakani said that \u201cundersecretaries have become perpetrators of violations of labour laws and standards of public services in the national ministries.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis ongoing harassment, intimidation, threatening and unlawful suspension of the civil servants have direct impact on the performance of the civil servants in the public ministries.\u201d<\/p>\n
