Africa-Press – South-Sudan. <\/strong><\/span>Three national ministers accompanying President Salva Kiir in the Northern Bahr el Ghazal State have sustained minor injuries after their vehicles were involved in a road accident.<\/p>\n

The State information Minister, William Anyuon confirmed the incident to Eye Radio on Wednesday.<\/p>\n

He said the accident occurred when a convoy of President Salva Kiir was returning from Aweil Center County to Aweil town.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe accident occurred, and it was not so bad. It happened on the way from Aweil Center to Aweil town when the President traveled to visit Aweil Center County,\u201d Anyuon said.<\/p>\n

\u201cOn his return to Aweil town, some three cars of national ministers got into an accident, but the ministers just got minor injuries and they are okay,\u201d says the state official spokesperson.<\/p>\n

When asked about what caused the accident, Minister Ayuon said the road was dusty and the drivers lost visibility when they bumped into each other.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was a convoy, the road was very dusty and the drivers could not see the front and they knocked themselves. And you know when a car gets into an accident, the other can crash,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

The three national figures include the Minister of Culture Nadia Arop and Rizik Zachariah Hassan, the Minister of Wildlife, Conversation, and Tourism.<\/p>\n

In a video clip shared with Eye Radio newsroom, one person could be heard saying someone fled after the accident.<\/p>\n

When asked about the scene, Minister Manyuon said \u201cyou know social media sometimes fabricate things, they just want to make it so big. No one actually y run away, it was just a convoy.\u201d<\/p>\n

The state goverment spokesperson said the three V8 vehicles were severely damaged.<\/p>\n

Mr. Manyuon is calling for calm saying the officials are safe and they were together after the accident.<\/p>\n

Eye Radio could not verify the condition of the officials in the convoy.<\/p>\n
